Until I get to my Dr. can anyone help me understand (or offer some hope) re: the fact that my pancreatic cancer marker 19-9 is decreasing....while my masses are growing??  I'm totally new at this ....and was so excited until I saw catscan results of all my masses growing.  Anyone else ever have this happen??  Thank you in advance for your input!

These markers are not always reliable.mine was still in the normal range and I was diagnosied in april this year with   pancreas cancer. doctor said we will have to rely on the ct scans to tell what is going on, having my first one in about a month, after my 4th treatment of folfox.

With neuro-endocrine pancr. cancer my 19-9 was not high, but others were: chromogranin A, Pacr. polypeptides, VIP.

I guess I'm learning about the markers.  Now I know to rely on cat scans.  Good luck with the folfox!!  I was too neurotic to go for the more aggressive chemo off the bat.  I was feeling relatively well....and didn't want to chance feeling too much worse!  Hope your side effects are minimal for you!!  Best of luck!!  Let me know how your scans turn out (If you don't mind) Cindy
