Hi Dereck,

I have had lung cancer in both lungs.  Two different kinds.  Had 1/2 of each lung removed.  I did have a small amount of chemo before surgery.  This was 7 and 8 years ago.  I still go for the CT's every 6 months.  The last three CT's show a nodule.  TINY TINY.  BUT it has been there for a year and has not changed.  I go to the Hilmann Cancer Center in Pittsburgh.  The Doctor is a pulmonologist, plus I have an Oncologist (hopefully I won't need him again).  Anyway, I was just there in April for a CT.  The radiologist DID not see this nodule.  Doctor Wilson did.  In fact he took me into their computer room and showed me the scan.  The nodule is very tiny and may be nothing he said.  BUT of course my anxiety level tripled.  He told me not to worry and come back in October.  I offered to come back in 3 months, but he said again DON'T worry, when it's time to worry I'll tell you.  I trust him tremendously.   I had joined a study group for heavy smokers at UPMC long time ago.  Why I did answered that ad I have no idea.  I think God was with me pointing me to that ad.  But when my cancer was discovered it was not the first or second ct.  So it was staged a 1a.  Had I not done that study, I would not be here today.  The Hillman Cancer center is the best.  Everyone is there under one roof.  When the pulmologist discovered the cancer he said follow me and walked me down the hall to the Chemo Doctor and then to the oncologist/pulmonary surgeon.  All is one day.  Not a good day, but at least I knew what the hell was going on!!!  Here's hoping you live close to pennsylvania.  God bless you and seriously don't worry.  MOst nodules are not cancer!!  Judy R

thanks, I see the ENT again next wednesday, I am still wondering, the antibotics have done nothing, I have 2 lymphnodes, one on each side abt mid ways down on the neck one on each side, one on each side next to the submandibular gland on each side, one just  under the left side of the chin that I can feel, and abt 4 or 5 more according to the CT, I back to him next week, I will push for more testing or a needle byopsy at least ,i am wondering abt some type of lymphoma or some other type of lymph node disorder, my back has been hurting, coughing, neck pain, pain from the neck to the ear and the glands on each side by the submandibular are sore to the touch, so i have more questionf for him

Please let me know what the doctor says.  Write everything down you want/need to ask him before you go.   I'm anxious to know and am thinking about you.  I hope it's just something easy, with an easy fix.  Take Care

Normally, with me and other i know, they can see cancer on a CT scan.  And only biopsy it to see what kind of cancer it is and to stage it.  My second cancer was not biopsied.  It was cancer and had to come out.  Did the doctor tell you that you have cancer?  You really have to calm down.  Yeah, easy for me to say huh?  I've been there couple of times.  It's hard, but ASK for a needle biopsy if that's an option.  Anything to give you peace of mind at this point. Hang in there, it tomorrow your day? or is it Wednesday?  Keep me posted.  GET a diagnosis for whatever it is.  Take Care.  JRock

Judy

You and i have a lot in common. I go back in Dec 2012  for my next scan. If not much is going on, the two tiny pea sized tumors will be burned off using Radio Freq Ablation. Then i will be all clear again. All Clear meaning ya, it's in my system, but no nothing anywhere by PET and any tiny mm sized things have an SUV < 1.

Sounds like you are doing great. Please write.
