I was diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC last week. I am nervous and have to admit scared. I never dreamed something like this would ever happen at my age and I have no clue why. I had been dealing with shortness of breath off and on for a few months and then I started getting pain in my chest, shoulders and into my arms. Having a hard time swollowing certain foods and have noticed my voice is a bit hoarse. Very nervous in reguards to what to expect with treatment. All of this is still sinking in...so new to this. Any encouragment or wisdom will be greatly appreciated..

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. The best advise is to take things one day at a time and never give up hope. Find at least one person you can talk with that won't judge you or get easily upset There are many great treatment facilities and new medications for your type of cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
