My mom's tumor has shrunk 89% in only 6 treatments, the dr's are amazed. today the nurse said they'll continue the chemo tos ee if it completely goes away..and if it does, just continue tow atch it...Then she said "if we see that it is growing back, we will do more chemo" All I'm hoping for is it DOESNT grow back and just stays away!! but I'm probably asking a lot aren't I? we've been so happy with my mom's results, now we are fearing "if and when it will grow again"

So Scared,

If you don't mind me asking...how is your Mom doing?  My mother was recently diagnosed with SCLC and I am looking for as much information and experiences as I can find.

Wishing you well,

Andie

My mother also has sclc and it would be great to talk to other people going through the same thing. My mother is up and down. She is so positive, she just always has been. But I know she is soooo scared and I am too. I just wish there was some hope other then a 5 year survival time if she is lucky... 5 years? in 5 years I will only be 34, I can't handle thinking I wont be able to have my children know her. I feel like I am sinking..

All you can do is keep the FAITH!  Dr's know science but the rest is up to us and God.  I too struggle everyday with the thought that my mom and best friend has sclc and I can't imagine her ever being gone.  I choose today to believe that she can beat it and tomorrow is a mystery.  Stay strong and know that you are not alone in your suffering...as I am here today living the same nightmare.  You and I will both get through this and maybe just maybe the rest of our lives will be determined by the path that we are on right now.

I have recently found a Bible verse that I have found and I having hanging on my bedroom mirror.  Maybe it will serve as comfort to you.  It is:

Rejoice in Hope. Be Patient in Suffering. Perservere in Prayer.

Romans 12:12

It seems to be that we are both rejoicing in hope and when we are forced to move into "being patient in suffering" we will get through that too.

Keep the faith today,

Andie

Thank you Andie, that was a very nice reply! It makes me feel better to know other people understand what I am going through. I feel so alone in the world, I constantly think that I am in this alone but when I read your words I realize I am not. None of us are. This is a hard thing to deal with and when I start reading about things on the internet it makes it even harder! http://www.billybest.net/ this kids book gave me hope, it was written by one of my best friends good pals. So I felt like I could actually beleive what was in it. It made me feel like there can be a chance after all of this is said and done, I wish I knew more about this stuff but all I can do is hope, like you said. Thank you again.
