Nancy,

I just hope to be there for you and your Mother.  This is a tough treatment.  If you have any questions, I will try to help.  I can only go from my experience.  Try to stay strong for your Mother.  She will need you.

Paula

Hi Nancy,

Just saw your post today - please give us an update on how she is doing.  Can't sugar coat the treatments, although everyone is different it can be very tough.

If you have not heard of SPOHNC you might want to contact them - they are a support organization for people with head and neck cancer - lots of info, they have many support groups in the US, and can also connect you with people that have had a similar diagnosis and treatment routine.  I'm 6 years out and they were a big help.  See the link below (It's from a campaign I started a short time ago to raise funds for the organization - please pass on to anyone you think might be interested).  There is a link to SPOHNC at the lower area of the campaign page.

Both my wife and I volunteer for their National Survivor Network - it can help the patient but also, and just as important, the caregivers.

Prayers for you and your mom.
