I had tongue cancer and had radiation and chemo therpy. I added this info on my profile. It has been almost 5 months since my last treatments, I got sore gums since I had to have the rest of my teeth removed before radiaton. now the bones have come through my gums in 2 or 3 places, that is very painful... taking meds and using lidocaine on the spots...one has healed so far. The radiation killed my salvia gland. My mouth is sooo dry all the time. makes it so hard to swallow with choking or strangling..I am using a med I started over a week ago called salagen..takes up to 6 weeks to see if it will even work. i am using biotene spray and drink lots of water. If anyone can give me some advise on dry mouth and how can you eat most things, my food still has a bad taste to alot of the food. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have if I can also. JUST needing someone to relate and share with , My cancer is suppose to be gone as of now. I pray it stays away!!! and praying for everyone here on this site. PRAYER does HELP. It sure helped me through all this so far.
