Sorry to hear about your uncle, I have entered my 14 month with my latest MRI 8/7/2012 looking good. I initially had surgery on 7/17/2011 followed by 30 days of radiation while taking temodar. I have been taking temodar 5 days a month along with avastin every two weeks for close to a year. Were all different, these therapies have worked for me and i believe avastin was a big help.

Hi Pratts. Sorry to hear about your uncle. Avastin works in about 40% of glioblastoma patients. Avastin attacks VEGF, which is what the tumor uses to form blood vessels (angiogenesis). I don't know why it only works in some patients; it may be that not all tumors express VEGF?

Are they sure its a tumor and not pseudoprogression?  Your more or less at the time when necrosis would set in.

Huc.....
