My father was diagnosed in January 2005 of Kidney and Bladder cancer.
His kidney was removed, and he underwent chemotherapy and after that radiation treatment.
By february 2006, a CT-Scan showed no tumors. That was great news. Two months later, the abdominal pain were too much. I took him for a CT-Scan and it turned out that he has significant ascites and the tumor has metastased to the peritoneal membrane surrounding the abdomen. Until today he has done 10 chemo sessions, his doctor says that the cancer is currently contained.
My father has lost 30 kg since diagnosis, which makes him 40 kg. He sleeps almost 20 hours a day, stands up with our help, has 3 tiny meals per day, his blood count is acceptable. its been a very tough 6 months, he is a fighter, but i hope he hangs on for i don't know when or why since chemotherapy is not a cure.
