I'd go see another oncologist.
Is there a cancer support group that meets in your area perhaps at a hospital? I'd attend a meeting there and ask a fellow survivor for a referral ~ someone is bound to have an oncologist they love who listens, respects, and updates their patient.
Good luck on that and take care.
Well I finally got my report from the second Oncologist. It took a phone call and two trips to Knoxville before I got them. They claimed it was faxed to my GP, but he never got it. He said I was a very angry person. I was intense and I was confrontational. He can not tell the difference between frustration and anger.I went there for a second opinion, but all he did was look at the report from Dr. Lee and agreed with it. I asked him if he had bothered to look at the Scan I had done that ruled out infections. He was not aware of the Scan. I guess that was being confrontational. I asked him if he had even bothered to look at what my GP sent him. No answer. When I went back, two weeks later, he had his report and the results in his hand. I asked him for a copy because I was going to see my GP the next day. He refused and told me it was time for me to go. It took me four weeks to get that report. My WBC is going down, but he offered no reason what was wrong. In the report, he stated that he agreed with what Dr. Lee said was wrong. Once again, I had other tests besides the Scan since I had seen Dr. Lee. I do have the right to ask that mistakes in any medical record to be changed. Even if they refuse, they have to attach my letter explaining why I wanted changes made. I will see Dr. Lee on Nov. 15, just to confront him about the things he said in his report. He claimed he wanted to do a bone marrow biopsy done, but I refused. It was him that refused to do the biopsy after we asked him three times to do it. I am not going to put up with their lies any more. When I go back to see Dr. Lee, it will be recorded without his knowledge. I am going to start out by saying that I have changed my mind, and now wanted him to do the biopsy. In Dr. Lees final report, he states that I refused the biopsy, at least according to my wife. It is legal in TN. I will record every conversation from now on with all of my doctors, including my GP. The 2nd Oncologist states that further testing is not necessary.
