Anyone been to CTCA Cancer Treatment Centers of America

Anyone been to Cancer Treatment Centers of America.  I have an appointment there and they seem like they could be well worth the 2,000 mile trip.  Looking for some feedback to decide if it is worth the trip for treatment for a rare cancer.

Yes...I have been going to the center for the past 3 and a half years. I went in with stage 4 colon/rectal cancer which my doctor home told me I would not alive in a year....I am still here and I beleive that without the help of God and Cancer Treatment Centers I would not be here today.

They don't want medicare pt.  Only Tulsa and Il accept medicare IF you are a resident.  I offered to move to Tulsa, they  did not advise it as they take a "limited" number of medicare pt, and there is a least a 3 month  waithing list

Got a similar run around when I tried to apply for mu husband who had pancreatic cancer.  Kept extending the months of wait required.

I took the 2000 mile trip and discovered out of the 3 places I went to for opinions they were the best.  I have now received treatment from them for a few months and they are amazing. 

I am so glad you went and had such a wonderful experiance, we went to CTCA in Zion, IL for the 1st visit in Janurary and I cannot say enough good things about them, everyone was absolutley wonderful and so helpful, we will be going back in a couple of weeks for next treatment.

Absolutely Recommend CTCA !!! We love the entire atmoshpere and am so happy we didnt go elsewhere. They treat mind/body and soul !! It is a Great positive atmosphere where hugging is the normal :) Most of the Doctors, etc are cancer survivors so they know exactly what you are dealing with..Please Go..It will be the best decision you have ever made. They also do NOT treat you as a number. Your plan of treatment will be your own, not one size fits all. We have been treating at Philadelphia center and we love it. From the minute they pick you up you will feel the love and compassion. Love them all...From Limo drivers to shuttle drivers to cafeteria workers all the way to ceo, these people are Angels !!! God Bless you and Let Go Let God...in great hands At CTCA :)

I did end up going to CTCA and had surgery there.  I completely agree with everything you said after having been there.  They are amazing.  I have finished all of my treatment and go back in 1 month for a checkup to see if they got all the cancer. CTCA was my 3rd opinion and I truly believe God sent me there to get the best care possible.

Yes, My husband had stage 4 cancer, we were told by our Drs here in CO to go home and make funeral plans.....NO WAY, called CTCA and we were there in 4 days.....THEY gave us HOPE and COURAGE to see this thing through.....they were very honest, forthright and fought with us till the very end. My husband used to say that he dreaded going down for the chemo but CTCA was the only place we adopted a family of physicians, new friendships, love and hope. Once there we dreaded coming back home....they understand and so do the others going through their fight with cancer. GO

I guess my question about CTCA is do they get better outcomes than other practioners, or is it just marketing to high-end patients and then making them feel special - like their mommy is taking care of them?  Do they have secret treatments, do terminally ill patients survive in record numbers?  Do they have medical protocols that nobody else knows about - or is it just marketing hype and spa treatment?  I'm skeptical and would like to hear out of the doctors' mouths - not from their marketing department, that their patients have significantly higher survival or cure rates on stage 4 cancer.  And by significant, I don't mean just statistically significant which can mean living 30 days longer than the average.  Don't confuse being pampered with receiving a better final outcome.
