ABT- 888

Hello:

So i am in month 6 of the GBM process. I just had my second surgery last week, which was mainly RT changes and they said some small tumor; but could not be sure.

I have found out that I am un-mentholated to MGMT. So I am now stating a clinical trail called ABT-888. It is supposed to help Temdar.

Has anyone trying this one yet?

As well, has anyone heard of GBM12 of GBM14?

Chris

DON'! Please don't. I thought the ABT-888 trial had been halted. That's what they told us when my sister was pulled off it in August; they said the trial had been pulled across the board due to causing seizures in many patients. She was on the trial for two months, during which she experienced explosive growth. It was the only explosive growth she's ever had-- she had slow growth before the trial, on Avastin, and slow growth since then, again on Avastin. The ABT-888 was an unqualified, absolute disaster. I wish we'd never heard of it.

PS-- I should add that it was quite likely halting the Avasting for the ABT-888 trial, rather than the ABT-888 trial itself, that caused the growth. Still, the ABT-888 definitely didn't do a damn thing. And I'm really surprised the trial is still open.

(PS-- sorry for the typos. I attribute them to the way my blood pressure shot up when I saw "ABT-888" on the screen.)
