Curios please help

My mother was diag. Nov 2010 at age 49 with stage 4 colon to the liver as well.. Shes been getting cetuximab/irinotican since june of this year every other week now this week dr said her body is resisting it.. Anyone else ever had that hppn.. Any info is good because im very curious?

Is she not a candidate for resection or RFA ? Plmshow the scans to a liver surgeon . I would suggest you send reports to MD Anderson, johns Hopkins, mskcc or univ of Pittsburgh or UCLA.

There is 4 tumors around the liver so the dr said they cannot do surgery, but thats only one opinion. Id let her hae my liver, i will do anything. She had emerg. Rec in july last year because the chemo created a blockage of scar tissue so the cancer is out of the colon now just in the liver.

Hi, I'd recommend you ask her oncologist about 5FU (fluorouracil) which seems to be standard treatment for colon cancer since a long time. Its given with folinic acid (leucovorin) as a 'helper'. My guess is she's already receiving that, and if not I'd be curious as to why. Side effects possibly. Fluorouracil in combination with irinotecan is called folfiri. Also ask about oxiliplatin as an alternative to irinotecan. Fluorouracil in combination with oxiliplatin is called folfox. Another thing to ask about is avastin. It's an antibody treatment which inhibits new formation of blood vessels thereby starving the tumors. It's given parallelly with chemo and/or as maintenance treatment. If you don't get satisfactory answers, I'd recommend a second opinion. Or both. Hope this helps in some small way. Sincerely, Anne

but i have found a lump in my bum hole sorry to put it that way but most of the time i am constipated but it doesnt bother me i have noticed my lump there for a while now until today when i wiped inside and i dont know what happened but there was a bit of blood on my tissue im really scared ..as i heard that advert blood in your poo might be cancer i dont know what piles are but i dont think it is that. it doesnt hurt and doesnt itch im scared of going to the doctors as dont really want to show them my backside because im really shy is there a cure or something the blood on my tissue was like fresh blood bright red but im convinced it is cancer, i really hope im wrong and please can you tell me some good news as i am scared thanks ever so much for reading please could you reply even know there is a lot to read thanks again and take care

Hi Tom-Tom, First of all I think you should go and at least *talk* to a doctor. And even if it seems very embarrassing, let him or her take look, it's everyday business to them. Also read up a bit on hemorrhoids. According to Wikipedia, internal ones seem to bleed without any itch or pain. I wish you the best of luck. Anne

hi thanks for reply i know this will sound stupid but will i die from them and also do you think i have got cancer and theres another thing. every time i wake up in the morning my kidneys like hurt well its not like its pain it just feels not right and kinda cold its like its not working and i have trapped air which i can make myself burp and its horrible and i do that for about 20 mins then its alright and my kidneys feel better until the next day when i have to make myself burp again i used to drink but iv been off the booze for about 3 weeks now. my auntie said it could be diabetes which i thought it couldnt be because i have no attacks but i think i have a high blood pressure. even when im resting my heart is still beating like 80 bps. and when im like this i dont feel like eating and cups of tea dont work until i have juice but i feel like this might be the problem i think my body is always dehydrated because im always firsty and when i dont drink for about 10 mins i get dry mouth. it feels weird i wanna go to the doctors but im a bit embarresed about my body does anyone know any ideas what i might have. i have been checking on the internet for ages and when i go like this it makes me contipated and its horrible its just iv got a funny feeling the doctors wont know and they say go for an xray and it comes back and it is bad news please if you even have a little clue or you think you know what is wrong i would really appreciate it thankyou for reading sorry im not good at writing im not very good at english thanks take care bye ------------------------Tom
