My Dad's Journey

September 2007 diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Whole thyroid removed with the understanding that his cancer was a very aggressive cancer. Radiation pills taken.

3 years cancer free.

2010 diagnosed with reoccurence in the laranax and colon cancer. 2 separate cancers not  metastisized.

September 2010 surgery at fox chase cancer hospital in Philedelphia to remove half his voicebox. Temporary trache for 2 weeks. Rehab to learn how to talk again as well. After  29 days  he was discharged from the hospital. Chemo for 5 months every 2 weeks for 3 days straight.

March 2011 chemo stopped  now to take care of the colon cancer. Surgery to take out the whole right side of the colon. Recovery went well but stage 3 colon cancer with 10 out of the 21 lymph nodes biopsyed positive for cancer cells. Colon cancer not confined now. chemo stalled because the incision where he was cut got infected and took 2 months to heal.

 May 2011 Chemo started 12 rounds  every 2 weeks for 3 days straight.

March 2012 liver metastisis from the colon now stage 4 colon cancer, Surgery to removed tumor in April 2012. Chemo 6 rounds every two weeks 3 days straight. Done.

Pet scan reveals in August 2012 he is in remission and we celebrate the blessing...

November 15th  2012 pet scan reveals  cancer back in the liver and activity in the kidney.  This wednesday November 21st we will find out how to proceed. We are very scared and find myself crying all day. This will be his fifth major surgery. Thanks for listening, but I am stressed at this point and have my chain of prayers storming through heaven. Pray for my dad.

My father survived all this because of our family and friends support.. Always positive. Dad is a trooper never complains. Now he is exhausted physically and I myself have some doubts this time..Need some thoughts. Thanks

Your Dad sounds so strong... Now i feel bad for feeling the way i do... I hope everything goes well for you guys it seem like you all have the right support i went through about 2 years of treatment for testicular cancer that spread into my abdomoine and presssed on my kidneys it took about a year and half for any doctor to listen to me... i was 18 at the time and everyone thought i was just trying to get pian pills to get high... when they finally found out what i had the tumor had groan into 7 pounds i was finally fast tracted thru the cross cancer and thats where i stayed for abit until i kept complaining to let me go home... im still in alot of pain and some what feel embarased or bad that i havent approved back to where i was im still like 50 pounds shy of what i was once at... they say 21 hour surgery is alot to deal with considering all the stage 5 chemo therapy i had to take... I dont really know where im going with this but You guys have been through soo much and you can get through this too... i will pray for you im not very good at projecting emotions or things like tbut if you need someone to talk to some time you can dump on me.. talk care and stay strong...

Your father is amazing, and a very strong trooper. He sounds like my mother, always happy and will to beat the battle. I will pray for your dad. Your family has this!! -tina God bless n happy thanksgiving.
