How do lifestyle factors and exposure to environmental substances affect our cancer risk?

My mother who is 73 was diagnosed a little over 2 years. It now has come back . Without chemo she is looking at 6 months . I'm not sure how she will do with the chemo she has problems since her surgery with eating and blood transfusions from her radiation.
