Avastin long term for glioblastoma?

Has anyone on here been on Avastin long term (over a year?) and if so, how long and with what results? What symptoms from the long term Avastin use? Anyone longer than a year on the clinical of Avastin/Tarceva?

Ive been on Avastin since February 2012,not quite a year. GBM stage IV first presented 12/14/11, resected 95% Jan 2012, Temodar & Avastin since. I have no side effects from Avastin, fatigue from Temodar. The last 5 MRIs show no tumor growth. I also have the Novocure device. Jim

Yes, my sister has been on it since October of 2011. She has had no longterm ill effects. She progressed on Avastin in May of 2012 and came off it for two months in the summer of 2012 in order to join a clinical trial. Coming off the Avastin caused explosive tumor growth. She then went back on it and the growth slowed down.

Hi Lisa, I've been on Avastin since Jan 2010 - 23 months. It has shrunk my AA Grade III tumors to the point where my Dr is saying he can't make them out on the MRIs. He tells me the Cancer Stem Cells still exist. I've had light to moderate side effects. But I am not sure they are due to Avastin or my original treatment of Radiation/Temodar. Mostly it is stiff muscles and joints in my legs and some dizziness. Nothing debilitating. A minor price to pay for the great results.

Lisa,

My husband was on Avastin for 13 months with no side effects. In all that time, we saw no growth of the existing tumors - they were quite small to begin with. It was the location in the brainstem that made treatment so difficult. All of the doctors we consulted with considered Avastin to be one of the best tools to come along in treating brain cancer.
