discontinuing temodar?

we had trouble getting this months prescription of temodar. we had to go through UPS to get it today. someone that my wife was talking to today said they were discontinuing it???? has anybody heard this? he also told her it wasnt because of side effects or anything negative.... it was a cost thing. it just seems to me that there are a whoooole lot of people that depend on this drug, or is it just in the brain cancer world thats its used the most and it just seems like evrybody is on it?

News to me, tomorrow I'm seeing my doc for my MRI rsults so I'll ask him then.  Hang in there.

never heard anything about that but  we have always got our through diplomat pharmacy sent by UPS.

No way they are discontinuing Temodar.  Merck just paid the generic companies a boatload of money to keep it exclusive.

More likely your insurance company (or pharmacy benefits) is trying to wiggle out of paying for it - because it is expensive.

If they give you any more of that BullS***, call Merck

hmm i dont know...  my husband isnt going to take the 6th round of it because it lowered his platelets too much - doc said risks outweigh any benefit (frankly, avastin seems to be what's working anyway - not the temodar).  he would have needed the next round next month - sooo the doc didnt say 'and they're discontinuing it anyway.'  curious - where are you?  we're from NYC so maybe your area is just having difficulty getting it?  (for whatever crazy shipping reason right now?)

we are from georgia, and i know since matthew has been on it (this is his 3rd treatment) we have had problems getting it, but usually only delayed by a day and its usually had something to do with approval from insurance. im not real sure which place we had to get it from or if it was them that told my wife that or if it was the pharmacist that told her (i work night shift so communication with my wife is limited, and she handles all these kinds of problems). He also told her that what we were getting was what was left from prior maunufacturing... i hope he is full of crap

Ive been using medco  mail in pharma for the last 18 months for my temador.  never had a problem with getting it on time.  Matter of fact talked to them today.  everything good according to them.

I get my Temodar through Total Remedy in Los Angeles, no problems in seven months.

Natt, I spoke to my oncologist's nurse today and she hadn't heard a thing about Temodar being discontinued. 

ok well thanks yall. i guess now i feel like one of them people who starts internet rumors lol. not really sure why anyone would say it but i cant find find anything or heard of anyone else that knows so i guess its not true. i know it seems alot of people depend on it. BTW Randy, didnt you get your scans read today? whats the good news?
