How do lifestyle factors and exposure to environmental substances affect our cancer risk?

My husband has been offered a trial with Gemcitibene and Cabozantinib. Does anyone have info regarding either of these? He is stage 4 with mets to liver, and has been on 5fu/Irinotecan/Oxaliplatin. Thank you.
