i dont know how many people know about Hope Lodge but i just wanted to reach out and tell you guys about it. it's essentially a 'free hotel' for cancer patients who have to travel more than 60 miles to their treatment center. it's sponsored by the american cancer society and is truly an amazing place.
my husband had to travel to NYC everyday for nearly two months in the summer and Hope Lodge gave us a room for half the time. it was amazing and really saved us. who can afford a NYC hotel for that long?? :) they have lodges all over the country and the one we stayed at was beautiful and everyone was incredibly kind. look it up, it's an amazing organization :)
we only found it by chance - in the hospital, my husband's 'roommate's' wife overheard us discussing how we could possibly stay in NYC and not commute everyday (and not become poor) and she told us about HL. she really saved us and i'll never forget her for helping us like that. hopefully, i can help someone else too :)
