Hi all,
Just something I wanted to share... I was reading through a lot of posts the past few weeks and a common theme that came up was "what do we do now?" I'm not giving anyone any advice, but I wanted to share what we're going to do.
My husband's GBM is inoperable. Radiation and Temodar did nothing positive for my husband and thankfully Avastin seems to be working (for now.) Once the Avastin seems to lose it's effect, my husband is going to take Cannabidiol capsules.
You can look it up, and please look at valid scientific sites and medical journal articles (not wiki) :) It seems to have true promise and potential at actually fighting brain cancers with no negative side effects.
It is not illegal to purchase, since it doesn't contain any THC (i.e. it won't make you high) and you can buy it online from Dixie Botanicals. It's expensive, I admit, but... how much is a life worth? I honestly don't know how much is needed to have it work, but you can get 25 mg capsules from this company online - it would cost about $200 a month.
Anyway, just something I wanted to share... I know how horrible it can be and feel when there seems to be no hope and nothing else has worked... hopefully my husband won't need this soon but as soon as we see any decline, he'll be starting on the Cannabidiol.
If anyone has tried this or does try this, please share your experience with us... thanks! (ps - it's also anti-inflammatory and is supposed to reduce pain and anxiety).
All the best,
Sarah
