ct scan after whipple

Im bit beside myself. My mum had a whipple nearly 18 months ago. Her bloods only 3 weeks ago said no sign of cancer and she has put on weight . Last few weeks her stomach has become bloated. 2 days ago she had a cat scan and docotr rung tonight wanting to discuss results im so worried that it has returned.

Hello Zelda...I am sorry to hear about the latest regarding your Mum recent situation. Bloating of the stomach is not a good sign. Be prepared to hear what you do not want to hear.

It appears you are from the UK. I have spoken to many folks from the UK that have exprienced below average medical care with this type of cancer.

Just be prepared...her doctor will be as positive as possible.

e nurse has told me today there is  a new sligghly ill defineds liason in the liver. ie a spot. we are seeing someone tommorow and all a bit besides ourself. I gather you have all had wipples. how long ago and how is it going for you. any info would be great ,Thanks Lou

No my wife did not have a Whipple. Awhipple procedure I believe is done when the cancer tumor is located at the head of the pancreas. My wife surgery included a Roux-N-Y Procedure. hre cnacer tumor was located at the "Y" of the hepatic ducts just under and outside the liver...

If they told you there is a spot on the liver it sounds like the cancer is spreading....I am very sorry to hear that news.

But never give up...stay positive as possible.
