Hi, My husband is 40 and was diagnosed with Stage 2 early stage 3 rectal cancer. He has undergone, chemo/radiation for 6 weeks, then colon resection with temporary illeostomy, and then a illeostomy reversal in Sept. All biopies show no further cancer, But the oncologist is recommened oral chemo. for 4 months. Has anyone been thru this type of situation, And did you do the oral chemo??

Hi, My husband is 42. He was having some rectal bleeding last fall, and the colonoscopy found a rectal tumor- adenocarcinoma. Thanks for your advice. I know any added percentage to the chance of in not reoccuring is good, but he has been through so much, and is finally feeling better. bearskins.

At 42, he has much to fight for. It would be different if he were 72. Dont be afraid of chemo. Not everyone has a rough time with it.

Hi! I'm a Colon Cancer survivor , I was diagnosed Stage II at the age of 36. I've undergone Colectomy, followed by 6 Cycles of Chemo....2 months of bone treatment... then 2 months of oral chemo....It was not easy because I've experienced a lot of pain and discomforts.
Now,im on remission for almost 5 years. God comforted me thru all those times....He has HEALED me and im pretty sure HE will heal your husband.I'll ppray for him and you also. God bless!

i AM IN ABOUT THE SAME SITITUATION AS YOU HUSBAND... HAD 5 WEEKS OF cHEMO, 5 WEEKS OF RADIATION, THEN OPERATED ON FOR COLON RECTAL CANCER. THEY TOOK OUT THE RECTOM, BLADDER, AND PROSTTE. FOUND CANCER ONLY IN THE COLON RECTAL BUT THOUGHT IT WOULD BE WISE TO CUT OUT ANY SURROUNDING AREA. THEY SAY i AM CANCER FREE BUT WANTS ME TO SEE MY CHEMO DOCTOR.  I KNOW OR FEEL HE WILL PUT ME BACK ON CHEMO.....

WHAT DID YOU DO AND WHAT DO YOU THINK..I AM 73. dOING FINE RIGHT NOW...
