I had chemo in 2001 and relapsed in 2005. I had one kind of chemo (CHOP) in 2001 and a different type (RICE) in 2005 followed by a stem cell transplant. If you have the same type of chemo, I expect your body will react the same way. The chemo drugs are hard on the body because their job is to KILL the bad cells and along with that it kills good cells. It depends on what drugs they use wheather your hair will fall out again. If you have the same drugs, your hair will fall out again. If they use different drugs, maybe they are easier on the hair follicles. My guess is that your hair will probably fall out again. My hair fell out both times. Hair cells are fast growing cells and that is what the chemo hits and that is why you loose your hair. If they feel they have a chance to save your life with more chemo, it is definetly worth loosing your hair. The hair will return as you know. It may take a while, but it will return. My 11 month old granddaughter calls me "Da Da" now. I tell her, no, Grandma. She says, "Da Da" and reaches for me. I was in a restaurant one time and a little girl said to her Mom, "Mommy, is she a girl". I said, "yes". It is no big deal. The kids say what they think and I think they are cute. Do what you need to do to save your life, don't worry about the hair.
