I was diagnosed 3 years ago with neuroendocrine cancer. I went through a clinical trial with Sutent. It worked for 3 years then my tumors in the liver started to grow and I began chemotherapy with Avastin and oxilaplatin and another chemotherapy drug. The oxilaplatin left me with a terrible sensation in my hands and feet. After 12 treatments I had to stop. Now I am wondering what I shall do next. I am thinking about the Excel Diagnostic with Indium II/penetriotide. PLease let me know how effective this treatment is.

I myself have neuroendocrine tumors (insulinoma). I have had the LU-octreotate over in the Netherlands. It helped significantly. I began getting worse last fall, and went on avastin and carboplatinum and abraxane and it shrunk things down well. Things are starting to grow slowlly so I am going to be on the clinical trial using RAD001...in Houston. If you want to correspond w/ me, please email me. Good luck. Taj Brown (7 yrs w / NET)

Hi there,

Just read your message and I am wondering how you are doing? My husband was diagnosed in Oct 2005 with neuroendocrine cancer (unknown primary) and has been on various types of chemo over the past year and a half - currently he is on Avastin and Xeloda. What type of treatment are you on now? Have you had any shrinkage of your tumors? My husband's tumors are "stable" but I would love to hear of some type of treatment that actually makes them shrink. I'm sure it would alleviate some of the other problems he is experiencing (severe edema of both legs and feet, etc).

Hope you are doing well.

Take care,

Jodi
