On October llth 2006 I was diagnosed with Invasive Metoplastic Carcinoma, spindle and squamous type. I am 59 years young and also have Systemic Lupus. I found a lump on my right breast after having a breast exam yearly. After a biopsy and finally a radical mastectomy on my right breast and a mastectomy on my left; the biopsy's came back with IMC, spindle and squamous. I have been told that I CAN NOT have radiation because of the Lupus and that chemotherapy will be the only way to go for me. I am frightened because I have also been a smoker for over 40 years. I haven't even healed yet from the surgery and will be moving to a new state. I was having a home built and this popped up, so therefore the move. The move will be to North Carolina and of course an oncologist has been found. I have my first appointment with him on November 20th 2006. My biggest concern is what is the normal life expectentcy for this type of cancer? Does anyone know! Secondly, is there a diet that someone has found helpful? Thirdly, how do you cry without hurting?
