abdomen. The tumors have appeared in both lungs. The right alot
larger that the left the left has x2 small ones present. The doctors
have told him he will need chemotherapy an d the secondary is
aggressive and surgery is an option. what is the long term

i believe the goal of treatment is to prolong your brother's life. it is extremely rare for metastatic soft tissue sarcoma to be cured. there are 176 clinical trials on soft tissue sarcomas. how old is your brother, and do they have any more information about the sarcoma or is it just labelled "soft tissue sarcoma" ?

i was not able to find much statistical data on survival times, but the few snippets of information here and there were not at all encouraging.

Your brother has a tough road ahead. He does need the chemotherapy. He will also benefit from surgical treatment of the lung tumors however, traditional surgical resection removes a lot of good functioning lung with the tumor. When it comes time to treat a new tumor, surgery will not be an option because he will not have enough lung remaining. For that reason I have developed and administer a lung sparing treatment called Radiofrequency Ablation. I actually was the inventor of the proceedure and it is now FDA and Medicare approved. Naturally traditional surgeons are against it because it can threaten their economics. If you would like to learn more, please visit my website at www.destroycancer.org

Hello,

I was wondering if your brother had lung surgery or rfa. I also have sarcoma that started in the abdomen. It has not metastized yet. My cancer is aggressive and they could not get it all with my last surgery ten days ago. Have you heard of the vats procedure, it is used for small tumors in the lungs. I believe it requires time in the or with general anesthesia. Please up date me on your brothers prognosis. He is is my prayers.Take care.
