I have exactly the same situation and am 26 months. I have constant pain in that area now - but what your sister probably was feeling (and I did too) was the liver filtering the chemo. Chemo is powerful poison and the liver has to filter all that out of the bloodstream, poisioning any organ will cause it to be damaged somewhat and the pain we feel during that probably just reflects that strain much as an overstrained muscle can hurt.
Aleive works pretty well for me when I'm not taking my prescription meds (Hydrocodone) and is filtered more by the kidneys then the liver, so doesn't add to the burden my mets is placing on my liver already. Be sure to research and PUSH if you qualify for either RFA or Targeted Radiation Therapy (radiactic surgery I think its called) as that can target and "kill off" the tumor mass and the chemo is much more likely to be effective on any remaining mets then it will be otherwise ...

My sister just went through her 13th round of chemo for colon cancer w/mets to liver, abdomen/lymph node?, and lungs. She had alot of pain the night of the chemo in the area of the liver. She had never had that before. Anyone else experience that? Thanks, Nancy
