My wife, Carol, was being treated for a blood clot, thrombosis, behind her left-knee Aug.23/06 with blood thinners, injected into her abdomen, by a visiting R.N., at home over a course of six days. Carol had a recent fall,at home, and had torn her left-thigh, abdominal and pelvic muscles. Carol was also being treated for an abdominal aneurysm. Carol,on Aug.28/06, was at home saying she had severe abdominal and lower back pain, weakness, chills and inability to even walk.A call was made, to her doctor, who called an ambulance to our home and Carol was rushed to local community hospital and admitted into emergency unit. Carol was diagnosed by physician as having a collapse of blood pressure and placed on " critical care " list. Doctor ordered an ultra-sound of her abdomen to be done A.M. on Aug.29/06 and admitted,Carol, into Emergency and placed her under-observation. Aug.29/06 Carol suffered a massive hemorraghe,9:30 a.m., prior to the ultra-sound. Doctors stabilized her, with blood transfusions, and performed the ultra-sound. Doctors discovered a perforated stomch, at the small intestine, that was a cancerous site that had mastised and ruptured. The mastisis had spread into her abdomen, liver and left lung. Carol also had peritonitis from the perforation.Doctors told us they could not operate or due " chemo" as Carol was too critical and would not survive agressive treatment. Har cancer was too invasive and was in inoperable multiple sites. The doctors and nursing staff treated and supported Carol as best that they could but, Carol succumed to the cancer and passed away, in hospital, on Sept.23/06.
