Stage 4 Metastasis to the Lung

My friend has been told she only has 6 months to live. She was diagnosed breast cancer Dec 2002, underwent surgery to remove 4 lumps and some lymph glands, and then radiation for 20 treatments. Today she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer which has spread to her lungs and her throat. Is anyone else going through anything like this? What treatments are you taking? She and her family do not want conventional chemo and radiation again. For something this bad, will alternatives methods help her? I don’t want to lose this wonderful friend. She does not want to die. Please if you have gone through anything similar write to me. Thank you for your help.

Hi, Linda I was dignosed with metastatic breast cancer to my lungs in 1999. For the last 4 years I have been on MANY Chemo combo's. I have been working full time. taking fridays off for chemo's. Except for being tired I have tolerated treatments well. Tell your friend not to give up. I was not able to have my tumor removed, so over this time I have had tumor growth and at times some shrinkage. My prayers go out to her. Donna

Hi Donna, Bless you. That's a long time to be undergoing chemo treatments. Have you been very ill with these treatments? Pearl's family doesn't want her to have chemo, but it may be all that can extend her life. I am so afraid for her. They want to try an experimental treatment which was on the news a few weeks ago. I don't know the name of it but she would have to go to Texas for the treatments. Have you heard anything about this? I wish you all the luck in the world and many many more years Donna. Thank you for answering my call. Linda

Linda, I have not heard about that new treatment. I have not been sick with any of the treatments. The only thing is being tired. They have so much to give patients for side effects. I am thankful for everyday and if this is what I have to do to have one more day with my family then this is what I need to do. As I said I do not have any side effect, except tired and have a good quality of life. Thanks to my Dr.'s and family. Have your friends family ask her what she wants. If the treatments are to much then she can decide what she wants to do next. With this new treatment I don't know what the side effect are. Donna

Hi Donna, Thank you so much for this encouraging email. My friend is very much concidering Chemo now. I hope she has as much luck as you have had. I have been telling her about all the people who are on Chemo and are having fewer side effects than ever before. I so appreciate your writing. Linda Linda, I have not heard about that new treatment. Hi Carol, I did find this website. Have you yourself used this product to build the Immune system? My friend will more than likely be having Chemo, but she will need all the support she can get. Can this be taken with chemo treatments? Thanks Linda Hi Linda, Go to GoogleSearch and put in dr.day.com; you will be able to find her website with some effort as this one is not exact. Do find Dr. Lorraine Day's website. You will not be disappointed! Good luck, Carol

Hi Linda, I sent you to Day's site because of the breast cancer and complications. Did you find the site with all of her protocols? I am taking barleygreens and other supplements. They can be taken with chemotherapy. If you wish to pursue all of the information I have on alternatives (especially lung cancer 4 which I am fighting), let me know. Carol

Go to this website www.cancercenter.com and take a look...this is where I went for my stage 4 lung cancer (Cancer Treatment Centers of America) in Tulsa, OK. They believe in treating the whole body not just the infected part...I have had chemo and radiation along with naturopathic medicine, etc. I have trusted CTCA with my life since the beginning and totally believe in what they are doing. Please have your friend take a look at this site. I have finished my radiation treatment and have 4 more chemo treatments and have not been sick once. Believe me when I say, "They take care of you at CTCA!" Julia M.

Dear Linda, I just read your message today and I pray that your friend is still with you. I am 36 and a 2-time breast cancer survivor. In August, 2004, my oncologist said that the cancer metastasized to my lungs and bones. I go weekly for chemotherapy without any side effects to the chemo. I am treated with decadron (a steroid), benadryl and zantac to prevent side effects to Taxol (the chemo). What I suggest for your friend is what I also use: I take 1000mg of Vitamin C and Niferex (prescription Iron). At 1000 milligrams, the Vitamin C not only works as an antioxidant against the cancer, but at that level, it helps the body absorb the Iron, which keeps the energy levels up. Advise her to check with her doctor about using this with any medication she may currently be using. I got clearance from the pharmacist at the Cancer Institute of NJ where I get treatment. I also recommend four other very important items that I also use: One is laughter. Get your friend videos, DVS, or take her to live performances of comedians that make her laugh. The Bible tells us that laughter is the music of the soul. When we laugh, it does an internal detox of our body and actually makes us healthier. I personally laugh at something no less than five times a day. Items 2, 3, and 4 are books that have changed my life in ways I cannot fully describe: How to Live and Not Die, I forgot the author's name. In The Grip of His Mercy by Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., and Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen. You can get all of these books at Barnes and Noble or Borders Books and Music. These books are filled with biblical scriptures on healing and serve to help change the way you think about and look at this diagnosis. They also encourage you to change your vocabulary. Instead of saying, "I have cancer", say "I've been diagnosed with cancer". By doing something that simple you change the way feel about the situation and your internal system reacts differently about it. It may sound cheesy but in the two and a half years that I've been dealing with this in my life, I've NEVER said that I had cancer. And when the first breast surgeon I met diagnosed me with breast cancer, I immediately said that can't be because I don't get sick! And while I've had a masectomy, chemo, radiation, and 2-years later back to chemo, I have not had one day of sickness from chemo therapy. In essence, what I'm saying and what these books will encourage your friend to do is say what the Bible says about her healing. The New Testament says that God would have us prosper and be in good health even as our soul prospers. Psalm 117:18 tells us that we shall not die but live and proclaim the good works of the Lord. If your friend quotes just that scripture several times a day, it will help her tremendously. I know several women in my support group that have done it and they have been cancer-free for over 10 years each. Isaiah 53:5 says that Jesus was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of peace was upon the Lord and by His stripes we are healed. Jesus already paid the price for your friend's healing from any disease. With faith if your friend quotes this scripture, it will put her at ease. For you and her other friends and family that are concerned for her, I give you this scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, of power and of sound mind. Get those books and read them to her, particularly if she feels tired. Let those anointed messages saturate, permeate, and marinate in the air around both you and her. They will cause angels to fight on your friend's behalf and enable both of you to experience th joy of victory when her doctor tells her that she is cancer free. Be blessed now and always. Fran
