Peripheral Neuropathy And Colon Cancer

Three years ago my husband developed pain and numbness in his hands and feet. After all the neuro exams and tests no one could find a reason. In June during a routine screening he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He has been treated in the normal way with radiation, chemo and surgery. We are told there is no connection between his neuropathy and cancer.
After all the chemo the foot and hand pain is worse. He may survive the cancer only to be disabled from this other pain. He had taken Neuroton and now is taking Desipramine. Nothing seems to help. We would be interested to hear from others who may be suffering in the same way.

Perpherial Neuropathy (PN) is not just associated with Colon Cancer. PN is an adverse side effect from some Cancer treatments, mainly chemo treatments....These treatments not only target cancer or bad cells, they also kill good cells; hence nerve damage leading to PN.....Please read other messages about PN, numbness, etc.....Antpnd

After receiving docetaxol and paclitaxol for breast cancer I started getting periperal neuropathy in my toes and the balls of my feet.
I still have it a year later, so I tried B12 injections. They made no difference but I have started taking Glutomine every day. It has only been a week but I have noticed a slight improvement.

my hushban was diagnosed wtih neuropathy and then colon cancer he was in vietnam and sprayd with agent orange.  But prior to neuropathy he was diagnosed with diabetes
