I have been using alternative therapy for my cancer for over two and a half years and have never felt healthier in my life. When I was diagnosed in May 2004 with non Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancerous lymph node on the heart and a large mass in my chest which had caused the partial collapse of my right lung, the onc I was referred to told me I would need the strongest chemo available in order to "perhaps" save myself. Instead, I did lots of research and opted for an alternative path. I follow a regimen for detoxification and regeneration which I will gladly supply free of charge for anyone interested. In actuality, there are many many people flocking to the doors of reputable alternative clinics. If you look up the statistics, over 60% of Americans and about the same percentage of Canadians are using alternative medicine for many conditions. There is a worlwide movement towards this modality and other modalities as well one very important one being the mind/body connection. Anyone interested in doing their own research on this subject should feel free to contact me and I can supply you with some very informative websites. There is ALWAYS hope!  dear shemay, i hope your are the one with the alternative medicine.i would like you to write me what your regimen was with your detoxification. i had in 2003 a colon operation and did not need chemo after. i was released with 90 % surviver status but in almost 2006 the colon cancer had metst.to the lung. i had blood tests done every 3 month for almost 3 years and all were negatgive. than the colon cancer showed up in the lung.i was told the blood tests are only 70% accurate. why did nobody told me this and why were there no scans and xrays orderd in.i would have looked after my self much better  all the years after my colon operation.i have taken alternatiive medicine since last october when the metast cancer was discovered. i am scared of chemo, to many horror stories, permanent organ damage and reacurrance of new cancers.the suffering is not ending. my radiation killed maybe half of the old tumor and grew about 1/4 inch.i am trying as long as i can to hold on to my quality of life.i would appreciate any information what your procedure was etc.thank you,

freya 63 - canada

I have been stage IV since 1992. I have had many surgeries and anti hormonal treatment. I think you should go to a big cancer center like MD Anderson, MSKCC in NYC or Cedar Sinai in CA, or big cancer center in Seattle, any big city has a cancer center. It has not been a death sentence for me.

Thanks for your email.  What sort of cancer did/do you have?  Mark has rectal cancer that has spread to the liver and lungs.  The doctors have pretty much given up only offering dangerous trials.

I'm working hard to find a treatment that works for rectal cancer.  Been reading about hyperthermia - don't know if he's a candidate for that.  Ozone therapy sounds promising but is not offered in this country.

I called MD Anderson and they told me not to bother sending Mark,s records - there was nothing they could do for him that has not already been done.  Pretty dismal but I described all that he's taken, pretty much all the chemo that they are using for rectal patients these days, and that is all they had to say.  I am on a mission to find a good oncologist here (so far all Mark has seen are Fellows at the County Hospital) that does cutting edge treatments such as vaccine therapy, hyperthermia, etc.  Thanks again for your response.

Please take a look at this website. I personally know of several people who have been "cured" using this treatment and I personally have just been tested to see if I am a candidate for it. It is not offered at least here in Canada by traditional medicine but is available through some alternative clinics. My oncologist has told me there is very positive anecdotal evidence regarding this treatment . It is not at all harmful so certainly worth a try. I feel very fortunate to have found a medical doctor who is also trained in the alternative field. He uses alternative treatments first and only the more destructive traditional treatments as a last resort. He took the oath "First do no harm" and works hard to follow that oath. http://www.knowledgeofhealth.com/report.asp?story=Intra venous%20Vitamin%20C%20Kills%20Cancer%20Cells Shemay

I am a stage IV survivor.  I had colon cancer with mets to the liver.  By my initial Dr.'s I was told I could die at any minute and could live for 18 months with surgery.  I kept doing research and looked for good Dr.'s.

My new Dr.'s said although stage IV is bad, they thought they could cure me.

I could not believe I was that sick, when I seemed so healthy.  Even after my annual physical, I was told I was healthy.  It was a total fluke that I even had a colonoscopy.

I was diagnosed in July of '04, I finished my chemo in June of '05 and am doing quite well.  I started off with dismal odds of 5% chance of survival, up to 80%.  I'm cancer free and extremely greatful.

I hope I didn't already ask you this - emails get lost sometimes.  What kind of cancer did you have and where were you treated?  Trying to find a good doctor in Los Angeles.

Thanks!
