Linked To Ulcerative Colitis

I just lost my Dad to bile duct cancer this week  - 6 weeks after diagnosis  - it was a huge shock and frighteningly fast.

I have read somewhere there is a high risk of getting this most horrible of cancers if the patient has suffered from ulcerative colitis (which my Dad had dealt with since a young man  - he was 71 when he passed away) Does anyone else know of any link or has lost a loved one the same way?

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, too sudden and I hope you are holding up through the holidays.  My mother has the same cancer, diagnosed in June.  We pray.  God bless you

Hi Chrissy m   -  I was so pleased to hear from you  -  felt good that someone understood 'properly' what we were going through right now but on the other hand, I was so sorry to hear about your mother...  Has she been offered any form of treatment?  My dads was too far gone to offer anything. 

Christmas, of course, has been a bit of a damp squib  - too many memories, plus, the sympathy cards were starting to outnumber th eChristmas ones!

Does your mum suffer from ulcerative colitis??  or, any other similar comlaint?  I do hope she is free from pain  -  I feel for you and your family  -  it is hard isnt it.
