Interested in anything anyone has to say about Cancer Treatment Centers of America

My wife has cancer. First the Docs thought it was of unknown primary. Now this Doc she's seeing thinks it might be kidney cancer. She’s tried several different treatments of chemo and radiation. Nothing seems to work. Seems the Doctors just give up and as anyone who has cancer knows, you can’t do that. We are at the end of our ropes; we just don’t know what to do. We are from a small town and have to drive a couple hundred miles to the doctor. We are thinking of trying Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I just hope we can afford to go, I know they help you with your travel but were on a limited income, just don’t know how were going to afford the trip, and staying in a hotel and so forth. I hope we can manage it. If anyone has been treated there I would love to here from you, Please post a message and tell me a little of your experiences there. Thanks Allen W.

I am so sorry to hear about your predicament, and I believe I can honestly say that I know the feeling. My husband has extensive small cell cancer (unknown primary, since it is not present in his lungs) = this makes it a Stage IV, and we were offered palliative care. I have been in touch with Cancer Treatment Centers of America and received their package. I sense that they have had some good results with some cancers, but to be honest, I feel slightly skeptical because they won't supply data on my husband's specific cancer type. I wasn't asking for a guarantee but some kind of guideline. Where are you located? At what stage is your wife? Have you called this clinic, and what was their response? Yes, it is expensive as all of the alternative therapies are. Regards, Ann

My husband has lung cancer. He was diagnosed in May this year, in a hospital, where no one seemed to be an expert on cancer...except, they were expert enough to be able to give us the very typical " death sentence ". You can’t believe a death sentence, because no on wearing a little white jacket is GOD...and only God knows when your time is up. And.everyone is going to die, sometime...death and taxes are the only 2 things you have to do...but you don’t have to die from cancer. You can fight it. CTCA is for fighters! After my husband was released from the hospital, we got on the Internet, and found Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA). We called the number listed on the web page. BINGO! They called back in about 20 minutes. Voila! The following week we had our 1st appointment. There is no place like CTCA. They are experts at what they do. They use all the most up to date technology and treatments, they are the cancer fighter LEADERS! The premier place to fight cancer! While you are there, as in or out patient, they have classes to take everyday, to learn about various aspects of cancer and about fighting and healing. They have a nutrition dept, a naturopathic dept, a Mind Body Medicine Dept. They will instruct you regarding exercise, as well, as they also have a physical therapy department. There is NO PLACE like CTCA!! Totally comprehensive, and totally integrative... You'll dine at their cafeteria while you are there, no charge for you or your guest/family...and you’ll be dining with others who are just like you...they have cancer, and are being treated. You have that sociability factor with others while dining...you are in an atmosphere they have determined will favor eating, and thus you’re healing. The food is great.. not typical hospital food...its ALL organic! Almost everyday, they make sure to have broccoli on the menu...its a known natural cancer fighter...and dining with others, the social effect, promotes eating...which is sometimes a challenge for cancer patients. Eating is critical for cancer patients, plus they have a lot of other ideas to help prevent weight loss. That helps, so your body can focus on the main thing...the battle plan. CTCA EMPOWERS YOU, the patient, to heal yourself. CTCA is for fighters! If you want to fight your cancer, CTCA is where to go!!! The choice is yours...you could accept what your local physician says...or NOT. I would recommend against believing any death sentences...don’t even go there mentally...The mind controls the body...they teach and integrate that philosophy there. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CTCA. About distance... There are hotels that give an especially good rate per night...per month if need be. Also there are homes across the street from the hospital that are there for you to stay in. so much a month, or by night...and very reasonable. Need a ride? MRMC, Midwest Regional Memorial limousines pick you up and deliver you to your treatment location and then back to your hotel. They run on a schedule, but you can call for one out of schedule. CTCA...these are the cancer experts!! They treat cancer EVERYDAY, 365 days a year. When the media want to do something on a new cancer technology, or treatment they go to CTCA...because CTCA has the latest information and all the latest in technology and equipment. I say again...I HIGHLY recommend you try them. WE did. And are very glad we did. Pick up the phone and call NOW...while there is still the opportunity to FIGHT the cancer. You will be pleasantly surprised...and BTW...no one at CTCA will tell you that vitamins won’t help you. More than likely they may tell you which ones are best for the treatment you and your doctor agree is best for you...See what I mean? YOU make the decisions, you are empowered.

I agree wholeheartedly with the letter that praised the Cancer Treatment Center of America. Without it, I wouldn't have the peaceful feeling I finally have! Thanks for the support for it, and after even going through Mayo, I find this much better. I have follicular lymphoma in my abdomen and am new to the treatment. I'm on my 3rd. Write to me if you have any questions. Thanks, Jan

Jan, I also was diagnosed with lung cancer stage IV. I haven't done anything except look into trials. I also thought about CTCA. I haven't made an appointment. I received the death sentence and I was just frozen for 5 months. They offered chemo but with a 15% chance of it helping I didn't see the point. Is your husband getting better? I also have cancer in my spine and right eye. So I don't know if there is any way to overcome all of it or not. Nobody seems very hopeful. I would like to know about your husband if he is getting better or seeing a response and what kind of treatment he is receiving. (If you have the time to write back) I will pray for you and him and for his recovery. Sheilah
