Newbie questions

Two weeks ago, a 1.5 cm nodule was found on my thyroid via ultrasound.  I have no symptoms;  my doctor felt a lump during a routine exam.  I cannot get into an Endo for a biopsy for another 6 weeks.  Is this typical?  It seems cruel to make a patient wait so long.  Should I keep calling around  -- or even travel to another city -- for a prompter appointment.

And, just one more question.  Does the fine needle biopsy hurt?

Hi,

I found out that I too have some nodules, cysts, and a solid mass.  They were only found cuz I had a MRI on my neck disks and they saw them in the images.  (My neck is fine by the way-lol).  I found this out on 12/22/06 and the endo can't see me untill 1/23/07.  Yes, this does seem cruel.

I do know someone that has had thyroid cancer and said not to stress about it.  She said even it it turns out to be cancer it is one of the slowest growing cancers you can have.

Anyway, once I get my appt I will update this post to let you know what they tell me.

Good luck,

Kathy

Hi,

sounds like you have time to do a natural cure and reverse the progression.  Are you eating alkaline and have you eliminated:

Cow milk, drug medications. refined sugar ( breakfast cereals), coffee, processed foods /animal protein, VITAMIN AND MINERAL  SUPPLEMENTS, vaccinations, starch carbohydrates ( bread, pasta, white rice white potatoes), aspartame, splenda, MSG, soda, flouridated water or toothpaste, tap water, soy, whey, microwave ovens, partially hydrogenated oils, Adkins OR ANY FAD diet, , margarine, sunscreen, tanning salons, teflon pans, table salt, flu shots, silver amalgam dental fillings .....

best wishes,

Byron

I totally agree with the natural prevention and "treatment". I have used the Reliv products for my family for everything to have quality of life as well as to keep from taking any meds.

We have been taking it to help with anxiety, depression, acid reflux, allergies, arthritic pain, acne, pms, migraines, and my daughter's seizures. None of us have had to take meds for anything since Dec. 30 of 2003.

Maybe is could help you as well. It helps to keep the body nourished so that it can do what it was made to do.

Be Blessed

De

Hi,

My mother was diagnosed with thyroid cancer when she was 23yrs old she is now 61...she has to take syntroid for the rest of her life but she is great!! I hope this helps you feel better. I just found out that I have an Islet cell tumor in my pancreas I am 34yrs old. I was told that this is very slow growing so I know that you probably feel scared and ready to see a doctor..I found out about mine in July and I am just now getting surgery next month(November) to have it removed. I hope that you find comfort and peace..my thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone who suffers from this kind of thing. Just remember to stay positive and no matter what happens...I am sure you will be just fine.

Take Care

Gina
