My husband has just been given the Melonama Stage 4 diagnosis with 3 to 6 months to live.....Hospice was called immediately.  He had very, very, very dark urine was, is jaundiced no appetite and starting to have nausea.....we are in between getting the news a couple days ago and waiting for the Cancer center to call us where I think they are going to use interferon injections and see if that is of any help.......He is on very strong pain meds as he was so weakened already from the pain and is helping so far................I feel as if I am rambling.

You are NOT rambling - you're just reaching out and rightfully so!  This is hard on you too so seek help while you attempt to help him.  It sounds like you have found this out very late, so I don't expect you will have much time with him left so cherish the moments you do have.

I've been fortunate as I am at 26 months and still fighting since finding my colo-rectal cancer had spread to my liver - the average is 18 months and only 4-15% ever reach the 60 month mark.

Please feel free to contact me or find someone locally to unload on or with - I have my cherished friends and a loving wife as well as family and that has made a world of difference but I know how hard this is on those closest to me and especially to those with whome I share my pain and fears.  It is hard 'knowing' what to do or say for you, but really all he wants is for you to be there, hold his hand and tell him you love him.

I just found out two weeks ago that my dad who had colon cancer now has liver cancer-The doctors say the liver has a large mass on it .They want him to have a liver biopsy to find out if it is secondary cancer even though they are fairly sure that it is,chances are this is the case-i do not want him to go through any pain -he is 85 years old and said he will not accept  chemo but he is not sure-it seems that his days are numbered but he has stopped losing weight and is not in pain right now.He is scared and unsure as of what to do as well as I.Your story is encouraging and you have been through this-do you have any words of advice for us.

thank you and good luck to you
