Hello Everyone and Happy New Year......My name is Debra and I need some words of encouragement.  My mom just finished her first cycle of Sutent and Interfuron, and tomorrow she has her scan to see if it is working.  I am a nervous wreck, I can only imagine how she feels.  She had her kidney out in April  2006 and in Sept.had mets to the lung and has a 5mm mass on her right hiliar lymph node that is inoperable.  She did very well on her first cycle. But she has a cold right now and feels pretty bad. Any words of encouragement that can help me get through tomorrow without having a heart attack will be helpful....Thanks in advance to all that answer..

Everyone Have a Happy, Healthy New Year and God Bless

hi debra,

how did results go with your mom?

my mom starts sutent next week and i was a nervous wreck until i found this site. they gave so many helpful hints on what you'd most likely expect in terms of side effects and how to deal with them

mom was diagnosed in august with kidney cancer.....which was removed and then discovered mets to lung and brain.  She went through temporary paralysis until she received steroids and radiation.  She's ALOT better now and moving the limbs but still bed ridden although stronger each day.

hoping she has no side effects on sutent or at least very minimal. Trick is, ensure you take with a good meal and drink lots of fluids.

update us on how she's doing .....
