I live with my parents, Mother, 80, Blood Disorder, (in the Bone), Neurophy, Tremors, and this came almost over night to my mother, it started in a period of just 3 to 4 months time, and she has Atrial Fibrillation too. Dad, 84, is a Diabetic, has Neurophy, and what ever comes with being a diabetic, and I am 55. When they gave birth to me, I became the sort of health problem child.

I have lived with them since 1991, when I left my second husband.

I myself have severe allergies problems, I get shots for part of it, and restricted
foods, I also have a bad back, surgery 1968, Disk. I am on S.S.I., due to the back. I am right now seeking Self-Employement with Cake Decorating so that I may stay at home to take care of my parents, but yet get off of S.S.I.

I am suppose to take care of my parents without any outside help from them, including helping me with the cost of my foods.

The emotional area of my mother that I think is keeping her down is family. Because this family situation didn't just start after the diagnosis, this has been going on. It just has gotten worst. I will continue later with this, the more to tell.

Gladys,

I am sorry to hear of your situation. I am not sure that I can help you but I know that it is a noble thing to care for our loved ones. The rewards will never be financial but relational and spiritual. When I was 28 to 30 I ended up being the primary caretaker of my grandmother. I did this till she passed from this life into eternity. There were times with I was greatly frustrated, angry, and depressed, but over all I have found that the situation was a great reward to me as a human being and as a soul.

Most of all you have to remember that our spiritual lives can be our strength when we are falling apart in the world. Being a Christian I believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and know that he taught me so much about love, patience, and hope while I cared from my grandmother. Also, even though we had our problems, I shared with her something and some times that no one else in my family has and these gifts are greater than the trouble of those years.

God Bless,

Marlin
