My sister Michele is in so much pain. Her legs and back hurt. She has tried everything to control it and some she cannot stomach. Just having cancer is bad enough, but having to endure the pain is pretty sickening. Her last months would be OK if only she could be rid of the pain. They did a bone scan and it hasn’t gone into her bones, we think maybe a blood clot, but we really don’t know.

She has been in and out of the hospital so much lately, when she is in the hospital she seems to get some relief and they send her home and the pain just comes back. I can’t believe we can go to the moon but can’t make someone’s last days comfortable. Morphine doesn’t even put a dent in it. It’s like a toothache that doesn’t go away.

Thanks for listening,

Cathy J.

Has she tried dalodid? I'm not sure I'm spelling that correctly. My daughter found more relief in this then in morphine. Morphine made her have bad dreams and made her delusional. A combination of drugs seems to work better. Give 1 drug first, then next time give a different drug. So combined, they seem to help a little.

I agree that they should be better able to control her pain. Have you talked with a pain team at her hospital? Sometimes they help better than just talking to the doctor.
