our fight has ended

it is with shock and sadness that i pass along to you folks who have been so supportive to me these few short days since i've found this board.  my dad passed away at 8:59 pm tonight.  his wife, his children, grandchildren and his brother and wife were all present. at 8:00 pm he was sitting in a chair talking with us, even laughing a bit.  but by 8:30 he was on his way to heaven.   his heart actually stopped beating when we were praying all together around him.  in some way, it was beautiful.  i lit a candle this morning at church and asked god that if a cure/remission were not to be to please take my dad fast so he would not suffer.  i believe i got my miracle tonight.  maybe not the one we wanted so badly, but nevertheless, a miracle.  thank you again for all of your suggestions, responses and support.  may god give each of you the strength to keep fighting and when the fight must end, may he give you the courage to accept it.  blessings, jackieg

I am so sorry for your loss. I know you and your family will miss him very much. My mother starts treatment Jan 29th. Sometimes I am not sure what to wish for. The treatment scares me as much as the cancer. I am glad that your father didn't have to suffer. Thank you for sharing. I hope if my mother can't win her fight that she won't have to suffer. I wish all the best for you and your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Pat
