Does anyone know if Chemobilization has been successfully used to treat nueroendocrine pancreatic cancer which has spread to multiple locations on the liver? My mother was recently told that her pancreatic cancer has spread to multiple sites in her liver and that surgery is not an option. Does anyone have an idea if chemobilization might be a good option?
Thank you,

Sean, there are several treatments for liver mets, however, it depends on EXACTLY what type of neuroendocrine cancer your mother has..I have liver mets with a non functioning islet cell neuroendocrine tumor. I'm using Sandostatin injections 3 times a day and hopefully will be going to Switzerland for treatment in the next several weeks. I went to see Dr. Thomas O'Dorsio at the University of Iowa who SPECIALIZES in treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. Liver treatment VARY by what type of cancer and where it is in liver. Chemoembolization, internal radio-ablation, cyberknife, surgery, etc are ALL treatments but whether or not it is INDICATED for your mother depends on again, what kind of cancer, how many lobes have tumors, where they are at etc. Thats why your best bet is to get in touch with a Neuroendocrine Specialists. Your mother might be eligible for a clinical trial, many very good ones are out there. M
