my 2yr old son

Hello,

I have a little boy who has some distressing symptoms.  Although I'm aware they could amount to nothing, and I pray they are nothing, I just wanted to put his symptoms out there and see if they warrant a trip to the doc, or if I'm reading into things.  He's had two bouts of flu-like symptoms in the last month, including projectile vomiting with fever & fatigue.  I have noticed a ring of dried blood in his nostrils three or four times in the same period of time.  He has red dots on his face that appeared out of nowhere & don't seem to be going away.  Also, he had some (we counted more than a handful) very painful blister-like things all over the roof of his mouth that the doctor said were cancor sores, but I don't buy that...  I don't know - he just doesn't seem like himself.  Am I being paranoid?

I have a 2 yr. old son and if he was having those problems you speak of I would get to the bottom of it.  Get a second opinion.  It's hard when our children are sick.  Especially, when they are this age because they can't communicate with you to tell you what's wrong with them.  Keep me in touch with what you find out.  If you get a chance, please read my story "Cancer Again ! Now What?".  Take Care & God Bless

 Aloha, Paulette

I dont want to scare you. but my 15yr old son also had fever sores in his mouth for almost six months. they would go away then come back. I also didn't think anything of it. Until I took my three kids for  routine blood work and it showed up AML leukemia. We were very shocked my son didn't have any symptoms. So please just take your child to get checked blood work is the best thing. the reason why he is having sores and not going away must be his white blood count. That helps fight infections are not doing there job. I know its scary but if you do find something you just might catch it in time. Please if you have any questions feel free to email me.

i have three children and i also worry when i notice odd symptoms.  if they persist, i usually get them checked out.  but i just want to tell you that my middle daughter was prone to very high fevers and usually following the fever she would develop a rash (sometimes it looked like bumps on her face and chest)  also, with fever and viral infections, sores in the mouth are not uncommon.  just keep an eye on things and if you would feel more comfortable, insist on getting them checked out further.  i know it gets scary, but sometimes our fears cause us to become overly paranoid.  i know mine did.  my dad just died a month ago from cancer and i started having some weird symptoms.  i got scared and when i quit obsessing, they went away.  our mind works in weird ways.  good luck.
