It was no big deal to install or maintain. Without I would not have been able to eat. If your husband can swollow, no problem. But if he can't and is losing weight, it is very helpful. If he would like to talk about it more, let me know. Couldn't imagine getting by without it. Right now I can drink water and other clear liquids by mouth. The swelling and sore throat associated with my surgery would make it next to impossible to take in the nourishment needed by mouth. With the PEG Tube, all I need to do is feed myself 2 cans of Jevity 1.5 4x day with extra water and I am good to go. I am also starting Chemo and Radiation in 3 weeks and my Peg Tube will be my main source of nourishment and hydration. A Peg Tube in my opinion will only help your husband.
