My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in April of 2011. We made a phone call to Cancer Treatments Centers of America. My husband talked to them at length. After his phone call, he had a strong feeling that there was some kind of scam involved.
They claim the provide the most recent technology to treat cancer and many people went to one of these centers and have had a good outcome. All I'm saying here is that they may have had that good outcome anyway.
My husband called the cancer center back the next day and then finally it occurred to him. Yes ... Cancer Centers of America will fly you and a close family member to whichever center that you like and put up the family member in a nearby hotel. In the meantime, the patient receives some very expensive treatments, but generally they are the same treatment that they'd receive at their nearby cancer center, but the Cancer Centers of America charge much more.
OK, so your insurance is covering everything and you may or may not get better. At any rate, as soon as your insurance is maxed out, they send you home -- sick and without insurance.
I'm always a little skeptical about people who want to give you too much for free. You'll always pay a price.
For those of you who attend, I wish you the very best. Maybe the do work wonders.
