Subject: changed treatment plans from revlimid to velcade-side effects
Date: 02/16/2007
They were going to put my father on revlimid but changed it to velcade due to medicare.  Like I mentioned he is almost 81 yrs old and with congestive heart failure.  He ended up with extremely low blood pressure and his pulse waas in the 150's.  He is stabilized now..they took him off his heart med to get his BP up, pushed fluids, and removed his pain meds and now just allow vicadin.  He is suppose to receive his 2nd treatment on Sat and today he is suppose to have radiation on his back.  He has tumors on his back, femur, skull, and ribs.  They have decide to just radiate the one on his back cause that one causes him the most discomfort.  I am guessing with the effects that they will still continue treatment as they were able to stabilize him.  I am not sure if his heart can take it.  I just don't know what to do or what to expect.  The doc said he will know more in a month.  What can I expect?
