help

My 64 mother has been diagnosed with stage 4 laryngeal cancer. She has opted not to have a total removal of her voice box. She has opted to have chemo and radiation . Right know she has a trach to breathe, has anyone had this treatment. Im wonder if she will have additional problems with the treatment because of this. Any information is appreciated. scared daughter
