My 49-year old wife was recently diagnosed with Linnitis Plastica. The surgeon removed her entire stomach and informed us that he had taken out all the primary cancers. The small bowel, liver, lungs, spleen, adrenal glands, pancreas and kidneys appear normal. However there are what are described as small perigastric nodes which are less than 7mm in diameter.

She is scheduled for her first round of chemotherapy in about 4-6 weeks. The majority of what I read on the net is so very, very negative. Can anyone out there give me any information that might possibly give us some hope of recovery?

I too was diagnosed with linitus plastica in May of 2006. It had spread to the right adrenal gland. I was told I had about a year to live. I was put on a chemo program of Cisplatin, Epirubison, and Xeloda for 6 treatments (18 weeks). Since then I have been feeling very well. The cancer appears to be in remission and I am scheduled to have my stomach removed and the right adrenal gland on Tuesday, March 13th. Perhaps you can tell me how your wife is doing after the surgery. I'm really nervous about it.

I hope they find nothing else during surgery, but I have been told that this cancer is ruthless. I will pray for your wife's complete recovery. I think she has a very, very good chance.

 Believe!! We can do this!!

Hi Marlene, Thank you for your note. God's grace to you and your body as you have surgery. My wife has just been diagnosed with Linitus plastica on February 14... She is due for her first round of chemo (same as your combo) I look forward to hearing more about your journey and bless you with a full recovery! Xaris in Arizona
