I posted a message on the 23rd about my Mom, she went to the cardiologist yesterday for angina & her EKG was fine Dr. said she could do the surgery if decided it was possible... I've talked to her about that & she said no more treatments if the surgery isnt possible. The family Dr.s own father died from pancreatic cancer a few years ago and is a family friend. He's not very optimistic..we have all quite frankly asked him for his personal opinion & he gave it. He loves my Mother as we do, so being quite frank about it to us kids was appreciated so we can prepare & know what to expect. we rustt his abilities as a Dr. and respect him as a friend  and being stright with us... I know there is always hope,& miracles but I like to know myself,  the odds and not bury my head in the sand. the Drs. at Moffitt in Tampa Fl. always say to call if she's having a problem but we never get a responce always voice mail , so if it wasn't for our friend and family Dr. here she'd probably be passed on already.. i don't have much faith in the Drs. there   . Lann, sorry to hear your mom's situation.  Is she ready to go?  Thank God for Dr.s who will give it to you  straight and not hide.  My dad's family dr. has been great, also, though he doesn't have much experience with pc.  I have been searching for info and others' experiences, too.  It helps prepare you for the worst and hope for the best.  From what I've heard and read of pc whipple/chemo, it doesn't make life easier, just prolongs it for some.  Dad chose minimal treatment, and is preparing to go on "Down to the River".  It's an old song he wants played at his funeral, whenever that may be.

It seems we have lots of ups and downs ahead, but when it's all done, I will treasure the times we had together, the conversations we shared, the love that will bring us back together on the other side.  God bless you! RT
