She is doing really well at this point, thanks for asking. She is almost done with the original radiation treatments they scheduled. They might add 10 more, but we wont know until after the next round of chemo and another scan. She went for blood work today to confirm that they can start the 2nd round of chemo next week.
She asked the rad. oncologist on Monday if he thought she could start drinking and eating again. He told her the best way to know was to try. Since she is no longer spitting out her saliva, we figured things were shrinking in there. So, Monday she drank some juice and water. Then yesterday she tried mixing her ensure with coffee. She also tried a bit of soup, but said the flavors were too strong at this point. The dr recomended she start with water and work up to mashed potatoes. She is a little nervous about it, because eating caused such pain before treatment began.
I'm happy to hear your mom is doing well. I know she responds well to treatment.
