To anyone out there who has been to Dr. Shantha's clinic in Stockbridge, Georgia or who has taken a loved one there...I need your help. I paid $50,000+ for my mom (who passed away 10/19/06) for treatment. She took a turn for the worse in August 2006 and I contacted Dan Bartoli and Andrew Wor (who worked at Dr. Shantha's clinic). I knew Dr. Shantha's license had been taken away, but I had no idea Dan Bartoli was also indicted with him in Decmeber 2005. Had I known that, I never would have contacted Dan Bartoli. Anyway, he advised me to take my mom to Heaven's Remedies Healing Center in Tunnel Hill, Georgia to a Dr. Virginia Leonard who claimed to have a soft laser machine that could help my mom. He tried to get me to buy a $35,000 laser machine. Anyway, long story short, they scammed me out of $10,000 and never did a thing for my mother. I brought my mother home and she passed away on 10/19/06. I flew to Atlanta in December and testified for the FBI against Dan Bartoli and now he's in jail awaiting trial. Can anyone help me get my $10,000 back? Does anyone know a good lawyer who can file a class action claim against these quacks and we can ALL get our money back? How many doctors do you know make you sign a contract saying you can't talk to anyone about what is going on? They prey on our desparate measures to keep our loved ones alive. Help!

I did therapies there. They did not care for me & allowed me to leave repeatedly when I was so depleted. I wrecked within 3 miles of leaving there & turned my car over & totaled it. I am lucky to be alive. I then found where they had charged my account with 175.00 & 150.00 for the same day. The only therapies I do are massage, sauna, & colonic. It is impossible to have it add up to that amount. Now they are saying that they do not own it, they never owned it, & they did not even see me that day. That they have no record of me being there that day. However, they cashed my checks on that day. sandi

It is a shame Dr Shantha treated people this way but I have been going to Dr. Virginia Leonard for three yrs. and she has always been wonderful. I do the sauna, chiropractic, colonics, massage, and foot bath therapy. She really cares about her patients and their well being and has done several things to remedy the issues concerning her previous boss/partner. Her only concerns have been for me and my care, not how much she could make off me, even doing things for free when I didn't have the money. I don't know Dr. Shantha but I do know Dr Leonard and if it was not for her I cound not work today and would recommed anyone to get to know her and her practice over any other.

I was widowed in 2000 when my husband died of Thyroid cancer. During the past several years I have been involved in a couple of automobile accidents that have left my lower neck area permanently injured requiring periodical treatment. I have been treated by Dr. Virginia Leonard since 2004 when she worked with several other doctors. I always found my treatment was top notch and Doctor Leonards treatments always seemed to give me my best results out of all the other doctors that I received treatment from. When Doctor Leonard opened her new office my newly married husband and I both followed her due to the care, compassion and effectiveness of treatments that were given. I use to take two treatments per week and now have improved and only have two to four treatments per month. My treatment has included treatment on the decompression table, infared light treatment, message, and manipulation. When I do not continue with treatment for several weeks I have noted that it is very hard for me to move and function normally. Every treatment that I have received appears needed and has always been fair in pricing and professionally administered. I would recommend Doctor Virginia Leonard to anyone who is need of treatments that her office has to offer. I feel bad that your mother recently passed away and only wish that your experience with Dr. Leonard could not have been earlier in your mothers diagnosis where treatment may have been more beneficial. It sounds like you have had a bad experience with Dr. Dan Bartoli who is awaiting trial. Your frustration with loosing your mother recently must be great. We as readers need to know if Doctors out there are really doing something wrong and if so what exactly is each doctor has done that we need to know about. Seeing that you have testified to the F.B.I. and a trail awaits Dr. Bartoli it would be nice to read about actual convictions after a trail so we as readers know what society actually feels were wrong doings and not from possible misunderstandings between several parties during your time of grief. Dr. S. did not treat people badly...Dan B and Dr. L did. She should have never agreed to have Dan B talk me into bringing my mom to her clinic in the condition my mother was in. I was desparate and they both knew it! She had stopped walking and was pretty much bed ridden. She (and her crew) made at least $5,000 off me of which none was returned. Dan B took $2,500 and Andrew W. took $2,500. Why didn't she let the reporters in when Dan B was arrested? What does she have to hide? The first week we were there, she was attentive to our needs but the second week she and her crew started slacking off. My mother said, "there's something fishy going on here...take me home". I wish I would have listened to her. Do you have terminal cancer? If you do, I don't think you would be going to Dr. L. As a chiropracter, she may be OK, but she should stay away from terminally ill patients. Dan B used her to coax me into bringing my mom to her and make a quick $10,000, which I respectfully requested a partial refund back and did not even get a decent "no" in return. Heck, even the airlines will give you a partial refund! She and Dan B just kept passing the buck back and forth...ask Dan...ask Virginia...ask Dan...ask Virginia. They didn't have the decency to sit and speak to me about the financial matter. $10,000 is a lot of money. To my knowledge, Dr. S. didn't "steal" any money from me, but these two did and they are not going to get away with it...I can promise you that. My mother was "plopped" in a dark room, read to from the Bible and listened to a water fountain...all for $10,000...what a bargain. You don't know her other side.....everyone has two sides.

As I said before, Dr. Leonard may not be a bad chiropracter, but SHE HAS NO BUSIENSS TREATING TERMINALLY ILL CANCER PATIENTS. WOULD YOU GO TO HER IF YOU WERE IN THAT SHAPE? She should have never agreed to have Dan Bartoli talk me into bringing my mom to her clinic in the condition my mother was in. I was desparate and they both knew it! She had stopped walking and was pretty much bed ridden. She (and her crew) made at least $5,000 off me of which none was returned. Dan Bartoli took $2,500 and Andrew Wor took $2,500. They didn't have the decency to sit and speak to me about the financial matter. $10,000 is a lot of money. I was never given any price list to see how the charges were to add up or any type of protocol recommendation....and I didn't bother to ask...because I TRUSTED Dan Bartoli and these people. To my knowledge, Dr. Shantha didn't "steal" any money from me, but these two did and they are not going to get away with it...I can promise you that. When I decided to take my mother home, these people didn't even have the decency to hold the door open for me while I wheeled my mother out in her wheelchair and no one helped me get her into the car. They just watched us leave. Actually, they were glad because they pocketed their $10,000 and we were out the door one week short of our treatment regimen. Compassionate? I don't think so. They have no conscience. If they did, they would have never let me leave with her under such circumstances. They should have tried to be honest, compassionate Christians and would have tried to remedy the situation. Instead, they let us leave like dogs without so much as even a "good bye". God knows what happened. What goes around comes around.

Once again I am sorry for your loss. My father passed away several years ago and I remember how desperate we became trying to help him. The chemo treatments, surgeries, and other measures. But I would never blame someone for trying to help us. After I found out I too had cancer I worried it would be just like my father and I would leave my 2 young children. I was lucky. 4 years later I am still here. In our greif we need to blame and I see that in you. Fortuantly Dr Leanord was here for my mother when she was in a serious acident and through several alternetive methods of healing due to my mothers sensitivity to chemical meds she was able to help her. I do not know this Bartoli but you should not paint Dr Leanord with the same brush as I am sure she did what she could and yet was not able save your mother. Once again I am sorry you lost your mother but Dr Leanord is still an invaluable asset to the community in my opinion.

I am not blaming her for my loss. I am not blaming anyone! I am accusing her of taking advantage of a desparate daughter trying to save a mother's life. If she had any conscience, she would have refunded some of my mother's hard earned money. I didn't even ask for a full refund...I just asked for the week back that I did not use. She also made me sign a contract saying that I could not "speak" to anybody about anything if something went wrong. Did she make you sign a contract? No one will prevent me from telling my story. I was robbed of $10,000. Go ahead and keep going to her. She puts on a good front. I am going to get my money back if it is the last thing I do! She made promises to my mother and I about the treatment plan that she did not keep!

You were desperate? Then you were willing to pay whatever it took to make your mother comfortable? Now you want refunded the money that helped your mothers last days here happy? Your mother paid for this treatment and you want a refund? Yet after looking up on the BBB it says you were happy with all the treatments you received except the last couple days? I still think Dr Leanord did what she could do for your mother within her experience and your mother must have felt the same only she couldn't discourage you from hopeing all would be well since you were so desperate. Thats what mothers do. Be happy she doesn't hurt anymore.
