Hi All Hope you are doing OK, with all you have to deal with! We went to see a Specialist in this field that takes a more holistic approach to treatment, and he suggested (along with your more common nutritional ideas) IV vitamin C twice a week and 40+ Apricot kernels a day (they contain vit. B17). So we have started with the anti oxidants, fish oil and Vit C powder and my poor partner is eating turmeric and drinking green tea and slowly starting to eat more veg and pomegranate juice...however I was wondering if anyone has heard of the IV vit C or the apricot kernel thing? Let me know if you have thanks MA

Hello,

I am new to this board.  I am 48 years old diagnosed with MM a few weeks ago after blood tests, biopsy and skeletal survey.  I first had elevated protein levels in my blood discovered in February 2007.  My doctor wants to start me on Thal/Dex, but I am wondering if others out there have worked with alternative therapies with success.  I work with a naturopath on a regular basis for health and she thinks that I can control this disease with homeopathy.  I am somwaht skeptical, but seeing the side effects from traditional treatment I am wondering.  Anyone else tried other treatments?

Hi all

New to message boards, thought it may help me get or give some info so giving it a go. I have tried the IV Vit C treatment, I had a 3 week course a year ago and my IgA levels dropped by 4 points, I was due to follow on with a repeat course in the Autumn, but due to waiting for approval for funding have only just got the go ahead and will start a new course next month. I believe it can help depending on your health, Diabetics have to be monitored well, as it seems to raise the insulin levels as your body becomes saturated with vitamin C. There are a couple of studies taking place to see if they can repeat the success that Linus Paulin had with cancer patients with this treatment. I also drink a minimum of 3 litres of filtered water a day to help keep my kidneys flushed through. I have made many lifestyle and nutritional changes to help stay health and to date they seem to be working. I had an initial 2 month course of Thalidamide when I was first diagnosed,3 years ago which only had a partial response, and although my IgA level has risen since then back to what it was, I remain resonabley healthy.

thanks for getting back to us, I will pass this onto my boy and let him know you had some success! We still haven't tried it for timing reasons more than anything, but it is something to add to the list. Cheers again and keep me posted as to how you go MA
