interferon is still the only FDA approved adjuvant treatment for stage 3 melanoma.  Did she have surgery already?  Normally this would be daily for 1 month and then SQ 3 x /week for 11 months.  Interferon can reduce recurrance by 10-15%.  Some might say the benefit of interferon does not outweigh the risk.  That should be up to the patient.  One thing is clear....you do NOT want the MM to recur.
